100 Futures is a programme supporting 100 young people aged between 16 and 24 to undertake a work placement which will help them to build capacity, skills, awareness and confidence, helping them to move into paid employment. The placement will be 16 hours per week for 6 weeks.
It's a six-week work placement programme which forms part of a wider programme of support from Job Centre Plus and Employment and Skills Hub, which may include:
- Mentoring Circles (DWP)
- Movement to Work (work awareness visits)
- One Hundred Futures (work placement)
- Support to find employment
- We will aim to match placements with a young person's employment aspirations where possible.
- Placements will be available across Gloucestershire.

Benefits for young people:
Up to £200 bursary will be available for each participant:
- £100 available when they satisfactorily complete their work placement
- A further £100 when they start work
- Both amounts can be held and be paid on starting work
- Participants will not be offered cash or voucher as this could affect Universal Credit. They will be offered to purchase through GCC something they would like (eg a new pair of trainers, a phone, etc)
- Flexible support fund for items such as laptops is available through Job Centre Plus Work Coaches
- Participants will gain key skills in the sector they are particular interested in working in with support
